The most recent scholarship was presented by Bill Bahhmaier, President of the DAU Alumni Association, Marcus Haskell, and Trashawna Carter to an outstanding young man, Hung Pham.  Hung has a 3.675 GPA, is interested in graphic design & animation, and he would like to pursue his education to become an animator. Hung will be a first-generation college student and plans to attend NOVA in the fall and transfer to a 4-year college.

Hung is a bright, curious, and dedicated student. He is an independent thinker and learner. He loves problem solving and likes to take on a challenge. He always goes above and beyond what is asked of him. His teachers rate him in the top 10% of the class in written and oral communication, and one of the top encountered in qualities including motivation, disciplined work habits, and potential growth.

On behalf of all the members of the DAUAA, we wish Hung continued success and we are very proud to participate in the Bryant Alternative High School scholarship program.  The Bryant Alternative High School is sponsored by DAU and provides students an opportunity to enhance their learning through individual teacher support.

We would also like to take this opportunity to recognize the dedicated support that Marcus Haskell, Deputy Director of Operations at DAU has provided to the Bryant Alternative High School for many years.  Marcus retires from DAU this year and leaves behind big shoes to fill in order to maintain this important partnership.
