Shaw Cohe has served on the DAUAA National Board of Directors for over 10 years and is a graduate of the DSMC 20 week Program Management Course (PMC 93-1).

A retired Navy Captain and Acquisition Professional, he served as the Head of Procurement for both the Military Sealift Command and the Defense Logistics Agency; Military Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics; Congressional Liaison Officer for Acquisition and Contracts for the Navy Secretariat’s Office of Legislative Affairs; and in acquisition/contracting officer assignments at the Naval Air Systems Command, Office of Naval Research and the Navy Field Contracting System.  He also served operationally as the head of logistics on the USS America (CV-66) and USS Wichita (AOR-1) and in USS Hull (DD945) as well as on the staff of the Commander US Naval Air Force Atlantic Fleet.

Following his naval career, Shaw spent over 10 years as a senior corporate executive in the defense and aviation consulting, services and support sectors. Since retiring from the private sector, he continues to serve as a Professor of Contract Management at DAU.

Shaw earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, an MBA from The George Washington University, and a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM), DAWIA level III certified in Contracting and Program Management, and earned an ASTI Master’s Certificate in Performance Based Acquisition.
